About ISSAYA

Inspired by my grandmother, rooted in Thai tradition

The name ISSAYA comes from an old Thai word meaning 'rainy season', but for me, it has a much more personal meaning. ISSAYA was also the name of my beloved grandmother, the woman who inspired my love of cooking and taught me everything I know about traditional Thai food.

Some of my happiest childhood memories are of standing on a stool beside her in our family kitchen, watching her prepare wonderful meals without a written recipe in sight. A pinch of this, a splash of that and a handful of something else were all she needed. Every dish was made with experience, instinct and love.

My grandmother was funny, full of knowledge and always ready to teach me something new. Sometimes, she would deliberately leave out an ingredient to see if I noticed. It was her way of teaching me to pay attention, understand flavours and trust my senses. The skills she passed down took years to master, but they remain at the heart of my cooking today.

At ISSAYA, we celebrate the delicacy, refinement and rich traditions of Thai cuisine. We carefully select quality seasonal ingredients to create distinctive dishes inspired by authentic Thai flavours and cooking techniques.

Every dish we prepare is a tribute to my grandmother, to her knowledge and the love of food she passed on to me.

Easy ordering, seasonal changes and clear guidance

You do not need to guess your way through the menu. We open Monday to Saturday, and our online ordering makes it easy to see what is available now, choose collection or delivery, and check the details before you pay. Because the menu changes roughly every three months, regular customers will keep finding new things to try. When you need ingredient guidance, selected gluten-free choices and careful allergy information help you order with more confidence. The pages across Issaya show each dish type and the local areas we serve in more detail.
